How 13 Million Americans Could Lose Insurance Subsidies

In his latest column for The Wall Street Journal’s Think Tank, Drew Altman examines the potential impact if the Supreme Court rules in favor of the plaintiffs in the King v. Burwell case.

Based on Congressional Budget Office estimates, Altman presents a new Kaiser Family Foundation analysis that shows that 13 million Americans could lose financial assistance, with more than half living in five states. A map based on the Foundation analysis provides a state-level breakdown of the number of Americans who in 2016 could be denied financial assistance to help pay insurance premiums for plans purchased in the ACA’s federally operated insurance exchanges. – See more at:
